AQUAPOL® SF-1
AQUAPOL® SF-1 is a lightly cross-linked acrylic polymer with 30% dispersion. AQUAPOL® SF-1 polymer is an acrylic emulsion having the ability to suspend, stabilize, thicken and enhance the appearance of high surfactant-based cleansing products. It is mainly used for clear formulation containing high levels of Surfactants. AQUAPOL® SF-1 also enhances the pearlescent appearance of the surfactant-based formulation.
Description
INCI Name: Acrylates copolymer
Milky, White Polymeric dispersion in water
Contains 30% active polymer
Low characteristic order
AQUAPOL® SF-22
AQUAPOL® SF-22 is an anionic hydrophobically modified alkali-soluble acrylic polymer emulsion (HASE thickener). AQUAPOL® SF-22 is an efficient cosmetic thickener for difficult-to-thicken surfactant systems. It is a cold-processable low viscosity liquid which provides ease of handling and reduces total manufacturing time. It contains 30% active polymer which thickens instantly upon neutralization.
AQUAPOL® 940 is a synthetic cross linked polymer, specifically a carbomer 940 alternative, serving as a high-efficient rheology modifier. It provides high viscosity with a sparkling clear gel and offers efficient thickening with extremely short-flow properties.
Description
INCI Name: Carbomer
White, Fluffy Powder
Slightly Acetic order – Another property of AQUAPOL® 940 is that it can act as a carbomer 940 alternative to typical cosmetic formulations needing a rheology modifier or carbomer replacement.

FAQs
A few questions answered
Are AQUAPOL® polymers safe for use in personal care products?
Yes. AQUAPOL polymers are widely recognized and accepted in global cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations. They are designed to meet strict quality standards and are safe for applications in gels, creams, lotions, sanitizers, and cleansers.
What is the recommended pH range for AQUAPOL® polymers?
The pH of an AQUAPOL solution before neutralization is typically 2.5 to 3.0. After neutralization, most grades work effectively in the pH range of 5.5 to 12, depending on the formulation type.
What makes AQUAPOL® 940 different from other carbomers?
AQUAPOL® 940 is a high-efficiency rheology modifier and is often used as a carbomer 940 alternative. It provides excellent thickening at low concentrations, delivers sparkling clear gels, and offers short-flow properties, making it superior in clarity and stability compared to many other carbomers.
How does AQUAPOL® SF-1 enhance surfactant-based formulations?
AQUAPOL® SF-1 acts as both a cosmetic thickener and an emulsion stabilizer, giving clarity, suspension, and improved appearance in high-surfactant systems. It also enhances the pearlescent effect in shampoos, face washes, and hand cleansers.
What are the different types of AQUAPOL® polymers?
AQUAPOL is available in two main categories: AQUAPOL® SF Series – SF-1, SF-2, SF-22 (specialized for surfactant-based clear formulations).
AQUAPOL® Carbomer Series – 934 and 940 (designed for high-viscosity, clear gel formulations).
