DRUGCOAT E 100 |
|
 |
Amino Methacrylate Copolymer, USP/NF |
DRUGCOAT E 100 is a copolymer, cationic in character, based on dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and neutral Methacrylic acid esters. It becomes water-soluble by forming salts with acids; thus film coatings produced from DRUGCOAT E 100 are soluble in gastric juice. Can perform much better than HPMC.

Additives: |
| |
|
| |
It is strongly recommended to add 10-20% plasticizer on dry polymer substance into solutions of DRUGCOAT E 100, to obtain films of adequate flexibility. |
| |
| Glidants like talc, micronized amorphous silica and glycerol monostearate facilitate spray application to the cores. |
| |
| Opaque white or colored coatings can be obtained by adding pigments like titanium dioxide, food colors and iron oxide. |
